Terms & Condition
Fearless Footsteps | Ursula Adams, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Last updated: July 2026
Welcome to Fearless Footsteps. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms," "Agreement") govern your access to and use of our website (fearlessfootsteps.com.au) and the counselling services provided by Ursula Adams, trading as Fearless Footsteps ("we," "us," "our"). By booking a session, using our website, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Our Services
Fearless Footsteps provides individual and couples counselling, delivered by an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, available:
-
In person at Tweed Heads South NSW and Murwillumbah NSW
-
Via telehealth, Australia-wide
Our approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and goal-oriented. Counselling is a collaborative process, and outcomes depend on many factors including your engagement, circumstances, and the nature of the concerns being addressed. While we hope our services are of real benefit to you, we do not guarantee specific therapeutic outcomes, and counselling may not be a complete substitute for other care or treatment options available through other providers. If you feel our services are not meeting your needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, or to seek an alternative provider better suited to your circumstances.
We reserve the right to decline to commence, or to discontinue, services where we reasonably consider this necessary — for example, due to clinical suitability, conflicts of interest, or concerns about client or practitioner safety. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice and support you to find an alternative provider.
2. Telehealth — Informed Consent
If you choose to attend sessions via telehealth, please note:
-
Telehealth can make counselling more accessible and convenient, but it has limitations. It relies on technology that may fail or be interrupted, and it does not allow the same level of observation as an in-person session.
-
Telehealth may not be suitable for every situation — for example, where there are immediate safety concerns. Your counsellor will discuss this with you if it becomes relevant.
-
You are responsible for finding a private, confidential space and a stable internet or phone connection for your session.
-
While we use industry-standard, secure platforms, no online communication can be guaranteed 100% secure. By choosing telehealth, you accept this inherent limitation.
-
If a technical failure interrupts or prevents a session, we will work with you to reschedule; standard cancellation terms will not apply where the failure is on our end.
3. Bookings, Cancellations & No-Shows
-
Appointments can be booked via our online booking system or by contacting us directly.
-
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours' notice by phone and/or email.
-
Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged in full, as the appointment time cannot be offered to another client.
-
Standard sessions run for 60 minutes, comprising approximately 50 minutes of therapeutic time and 10 minutes reserved for case notes and administrative tasks.
-
Requests to waive a cancellation fee will be considered at our discretion — please contact us directly to discuss.
4. Fees & Payment
-
Fees are payable at the time of booking or immediately following each session, unless otherwise agreed.
-
A service fee may apply for certain payment methods (e.g. credit card), as set by our booking system provider.
-
We understand financial circumstances vary. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact us to discuss options — fees may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
-
Fees are subject to change from time to time. Current fees will always be confirmed at the time of booking.
-
By booking a session, you confirm that any payment method provided is valid and one you are authorised to use, and that your payment details are accurate and up to date.
Medicare Rebates
Clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from a GP or psychiatrist may be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate (currently $87.25 per session) for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year, for sessions with an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. It is your responsibility to ensure your Medicare details and nominated bank account are up to date for rebates to be processed correctly. We take reasonable steps to support rebate claims but do not guarantee eligibility or approval, as this is determined by Medicare. Rebates do not apply to couples counselling. Please keep track of the sessions you have claimed to avoid unexpected full-fee charges once your rebate entitlement is used.
Private Health Insurance
AMHSW services are recognised by some private health funds (e.g. Bupa, HCF, Teachers Health, Doctors Health, St Lukes Health, Medibank, GMHBA). Coverage and benefit levels vary by fund and policy — please check with your provider directly.
5. Confidentiality & Privacy
We take your privacy seriously and handle personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
-
Information shared in sessions is confidential, with the following exceptions required or permitted by law or professional/ethical obligations: where there is a risk of serious harm to you or another person, where disclosure is required by a court, or where required for mandatory reporting (e.g. child safety concerns).
-
With your consent, relevant information may be shared with referring GPs or other treating professionals (e.g. progress updates under a Mental Health Treatment Plan).
-
Session notes and client records are stored securely and retained in accordance with applicable record-keeping obligations for health service providers.
-
For full details on how we collect, use, and store your information, please refer to our [Privacy Policy]
6. Your Responsibilities & Representations

-
The information you provide to us (contact details, health information, payment details, etc.) is accurate, current, and complete, and you will let us know if it changes
-
You will attend sessions in a manner free from the influence of drugs or alcohol, as this may affect our ability to safely and effectively provide the service
-

9. Referrals & GP/Allied Health Partners
Where services are provided under referral (e.g. via a Mental Health Treatment Plan or allied health referral), we may communicate progress updates with the referring practitioner, subject to your consent, as part of collaborative care.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, fees, or legal obligations. Changes take effect once posted to this website. The version published at the time of your booking or use of our services will apply, so we encourage you to check back periodically.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement and our relationship with you are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed, and the remainder will continue in full force.
