For GPs & Referrers

Refer With Confidence

Fearless Footsteps welcomes referrals from GPs, psychiatrists, and other health and allied health professionals.

Ursula Adams is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 13+ years' experience, offering trauma-informed, evidence-based counselling for individuals and couples, in person in Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah, or via telehealth Australia-wide.

We understand the trust involved in referring a patient into someone else's care, and we're committed to clear communication, collaborative treatment planning, and keeping you informed every step of the way (with your patient's consent).

Who We Support

Ursula works with adults experiencing a broad range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma

  • Life transitions and adjustment difficulties

  • Emotional overwhelm and burnout

  • Relationship and communication difficulties (couples counselling)

  • Domestic violence

  • Drug and alcohol misuse

  • ADHD

If you're unsure whether a particular presentation is a good fit, feel free to reach out and discuss before submitting a referral.

Referral Pathways

Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) Referrals

Patients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP or psychiatrist may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $89.50 per session, for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year, when seeing an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Medicare rebates apply to individual counselling only (not couples sessions).

General & Allied Health Referrals

We also accept referrals from allied health professionals, support coordinators, and community organisations for clients who may benefit from counselling support outside the Medicare pathway (e.g. self-funded, NDIS-related, or private health cover).
